It’s Wine Time! What a week, survived the season’s first (maybe last, I hope) ice storm and hosted a holiday gathering celebrating the flavors of Spain. (yes again, still on that Spain kick) The really good news besides that it’s Friday, I have left overs from the party last night. Confession–the party was catered. The menu included two different kinds of paella, lamb tagine, tabbouleh, tapenade, hummus, baba ghanoush and lots more. The red wine we served was a great value Spanish wine, everyone loved it so much that it is GONE, no left overs there! But I do highly recommend it for parties or for an everyday wine. That popular party wine WAS a 2009 Borsao, a blend of 75% Garnacha and 25% Tempranillo. I purchased it at Wholefoods for $8.99, not bad….
Cheers It’s Friday
Well, since that wine is GONE, I still NEED wine to go with Friday and my leftovers. So, this little old magazine called The Wine Spectator currently has their top 100 wines of the year. It is my duty to try at least some of these wines. Tonight I will start my tasting of the great Wine Spectator’s top 100 wines of 2010 with another good value, I paid $11.99– 2008 The Stump Jump, d’ Arenberg South Australia, a blend of 42% Grenache, 36% Shiraz and 22% Mourvedre. This wine was #63 on the list and scored 90 points out of 100.
Time to kick up my feet with a glass of Stump Jump and leftovers–love leftovers and Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines, CHEERS It’s Friday
Cheers to you! Sounds like you had the kind of evening I could only wish to have. It was great peeking around your site this morning – sounds like we have a lot in common. If we were neighbors, you could come over and have a glass of wine anytime!! Happy weekend…
