Hello December and the season of celebrating, sharing, giving AND reflecting on the year 2016.
My past year can be summarized in my cookbooks (crazy but true). My year started with cravings for Mediterranean foods. Flavorful bold foods that were well seasoned and spiced and sometime even a bit exotic. Usually with lots of fresh vegetables and less meat. My cookbooks at hand in early 2016 were:
With the arrival of spring I was cooking lighter except for fruit desserts of course. My cookbook library at hand then included:
And then sometime mid year, I realized as much as I enjoy cooking, it is the wine that I want to drink that determines what I want to eat. My wine passion was taking over – again! I started to participate in an online wine education forum called #winestudio. A trip to Burgundy in September, all but sealed my interest and curiosity to learn more about wine. I started to cook with more French influence and consciously considered every element in a recipe. So the cookbooks I am cooking from now in December 2016:
